Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

In order to generate more pilot hours for the Washington, D.C. Hub and award pilots who demonstrate dedication to the Washington, D.C. Hub, the Vice President of Washington, D.C. Operations has established the 'Pilot of the Month Award' for each airport at Washington, D.C.  At the beginning of each month, the name of the pilot with the most hours in the previous month will be announced and their name posted here next to the award for their particular airport.  A notation will also be made in the pilots log book.

Washington, D.C. Operations Moves to New Gateway Server Site

April 22, 2001 (Washington, D.C.) - Gateway Airlines Washington, D.C. Operations unvailed plans today to move the hubs corporate web pages over to the official Gateway Airlines server as part of the remodeling project that Gateway is undergoing in the first half of 2001.  As of April 23, 2001, all transactions that previously have taken place on this web site have been transferred to the new Washington, D.C. Operations web site located at http://gatewayair.com/hubs/iad .

In order to use the new sites and new features such as an automated pilot log book, automated pirep form, and the return of Gateway Airlines' Virutal Pilot Life, all current pilots must register on the new site.   Registration is a simple process of reporting your name, new gateway pilot number (your old number, drop the "A" and add "GWA" before your number), current email address, and your current total hours.  Once you have registered, Mr. LeMarier will confirm you as a registered pilot of Washington, D.C. and then you will be free to resume your normal duties of flying.  As an added bonus, all pilot will also be added to the Virtual Pilot Life 2 program and will receive virtual "paychecks" based on their ranking and subsequent bonuses.

To accommodate pilots as they register, the link to the pilots logbook above is still directed to the old logbook on this site.   Please note that the current logbook for all Washington, D.C. pilots is located at http://www.gatewayair.com/hubs/iad/logbook.php3

Finally, on a sadder note, the shift to the new Gateway Airlines' server and new master schedule version 7.0 has forced Gateway management to return the Gateway Business Express Service to Washington Dulles International Airport.  Therefore, all pilots who are currently based out of Ronald Reagan Washington National will be transferred to Dulles, where they will continue to serve as Business Express pilots until they achieve the rank of Captain II (50.0 + Hours), as has been the policy in the past.  Gateway management has no present intensions to move Gateway Shuttle service from Baltimore-Washington International at this time.   More on the newly revamped Shuttle service will be available in the next few weeks.

Washington, D.C. Operations Updating/Pilot Policies

In order to accommodate his legal studies and maintain operation of the Washington, D.C. hub, Mr. LeMarier will update the hub web site every two weeks on Sundays, except in cases of increased workload or other circumstantial factors.   Pilot hours and new assignments will be posted at the same time and should be available to pilots by Monday mornings, barring an increased demand on time caused by legal assignments.  If such demands on time prohibit publishing on Mondays, the pages will be updated as soon as free time becomes available.  Other updates to the log book will remain at the discretion of the Vice President of Washington, D.C. Operations.

Pilots are reminded that every pilot is required to fly at least one (1) flight every two weeks.   Failure to file a flight report for one (1) month will result in pilot's record being transferred to the inactive roster.  Pilots in the inactive roster have one (1) month to contact Mr. LeMarier or file a flight report with at least one (1) flight or they will be subject to dismissal from Gateway Washington, D.C. Operations and Gateway Airlines.  This is a company rule, so please ensure that you are not subject to involuntary dismissal by flying at least one (1) flight during each two week period.   Pilots need not fly at the highest category they are rated for, but rather only need to fly one (1) flight from any category they are rated for.  Requests for a leave of absence (increased school work, vacations, etc.) will be granted if an email stating such request is received by Mr. LeMarier.

Gateway Washington pilots are instructed that all hours reported on pilot reports must be in a numerical format in which minutes are converted to decimal hours.  In other words, every six (6) minutes of flight time is equivalent to one-tenth (0.1) hour of flight time.  All pilots are asked to ensure that they follow through with this procedure and double check their calculations when entering the total flight time being reported.  This will reduce the amount of time needed to update the log book, thereby ensuring that pilot hours are updated in a timely fashion.

Any questions should be directed to Mr. LeMarier at his email address below.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!  Please remember that both Washington, D.C. and Gateway management are here to serve the pilots as best we can!  Your comments and questions will be answered in as timely a fashion as possible, so don't hesitate to contact us if you have any problems/comments/suggestions!
